It all started with a conversation at the dinner table

CHOPE CHOPE began with a shared love of cooking. First for each other, then for others. What started around the dinner table has since evolved into a creative studio and kitchen shaped by heritage, storytelling and seasonal produce.

Founder, Maki

Maki grew up in her family’s hawker kitchen in Singapore, surrounded by recipes passed down through generations. Taught by her father — a first-generation Singaporean–Malaysian hawker with over 40 years of experience. Her cooking is deeply rooted in tradition, memory and bold flavours. Today, she brings a contemporary perspective to these foundations while honouring the stories they carry.

Co-Founder Felix

Felix, raised in Yorkshire in a family of passionate cooks, brings a refined modern British sensibility to the studio. With a background in science and lifelong obsession with cookbooks, technique and flavour, his approach combines precision with creativity, helping shape CHOPE CHOPE’s distinctive style of modern Asian-British cuisine.
